FAQ'S
Who needs Good Sam Emergency Assistance Plus?
Every RV owner who travels, whether they’re in their RV or not.
What makes Good Sam EA + different from another medical assistance program?
Good Sam EA+ provides over 20 different types of valuable and affordable travel
emergency benefits, including medical evacuation, emergency travel services, air
ambulance service and return-home services. We also help with pre-trip and translation
services.
Am I still covered if I experience a travel emergency outside the USA?
Yes you are! Good Sam EA+ medical assistance benefits travel with you, no matter where you go.
I’ve never had an accident – why should I get Good Sam EA+?
Of course we hope you’ll never have to take advantage of Good Sam EA+, but travel
emergencies do happen so it’s better to be prepared.
Who decides if I should be transported?
EA+’s medical director will make the determination after reviewing medical reports
and possible consultation with the treating physician.
How many emergency evacuation transports am I allowed each year?
EA+ will not cover subsequent evacuations for the same or related medical condition,
regardless of location. There can only be one Evacuation per Injury or Illness per
trip but there are no other limits on the number of transports per year.
In the case of a travel emergency, how long does it take Good Sam EA+ to move me to another hospital?
This is determined on a case by case basis, depending on the location and the patient’s
specific condition. The member will only be moved to another hospital when care
at the first hospital is not adequate or following this initial evacuation, when
the patient is stable enough for transportation home in an Economy Class seat. EA+’s
medical director will make the determination after reviewing medical reports and
possible consultation with the treating physician.
Don’t I already have emergency evacuation coverage with my current health insurance.
Most healthcare providers do not include medical evacuation. And if they do include
it, usually there are numerous restrictions and you will most likely end up having
to pay something out of pocket. Good Sam EA+ is a pre-paid medical assistance program
so you won’t pay a cent out of pocket.
Who is included under the emergency assistance family plan?
As long as the member pays for the family plan, he may enroll all family members
who meet the definition of dependent: the MEMBER’S spouse (to include legally recognized
domestic partner) unless they are legally separated; the MEMBER’S unmarried children
from birth and under age 19; or under age 23, if enrolled as a full-time student
in an accredited college, university, vocational, or technical school; and children
whose support is required by a court decree. Children include natural children,
stepchildren and legally adopted children. They must be primarily dependent on the
MEMBER for support and maintenance and must live in a parent-child relationship
with the MEMBER. Family coverage includes any and all legal dependents of the MEMBER
at the time of service.
If my whole family is caught in a travel emergency, are you able to provide evacuation service for all of us?
If a family membership was purchased and if the whole family medically requires
transportation from an inadequate to an adequate facility, this service will be
required.
Who is the Good Sam Club?
The Good Sam Club is the foremost name in the RVing lifestyle. We are the world’s
largest RV owner’s organization and we have over one million members! Good Sam has
come to represent quality, affordability and peace of mind for RVers all over the

EA+. Traveling with a chronic condition is an exclusion. The above statement is
only true if it is following an evacuation and other Terms & Conditions Apply!
